Problem
When trying to run the ISM Revit plugin version 11.01.00.07 or 11.02.00.14 within Revit 2019, 2020 or 2021, it instantly crashes Revit followed by an Autodesk Error Report (External Tools Failure... System.IO.FileNotFoundException).
The primary issue occurs with any ISM Action or trying to access the ISM Revit plugin settings.
A second, related issue occurs as soon as Revit starts up (and the Bentley menu is not loaded).
Solution
Fixed in ISM Revit Plugin version 11.02.01.07 released March 1, 2021.

We have seen a few cases of this with Revit 2020, though it does not affect all machines. With ISM Revit Plugin 11.02.00.14 the issue can also affect Revit 2021 and is more common. We believe the issue is related to Structural Property Catalog dependency and MS Windows Strong Name requirements. Our updated version 11.02.01.07 should resolve the problem.
For users who cannot upgrade for some reason the following steps are advised:
- Uninstall any and all version of the ISM Revit plugin
- Reinstall only version (11.01.00.07) and only for Revit 2020.
A Reboot may be required.
If the problem persists, then the developers will want to see the Synchronizer and ISM Revit logs. File a service request or post to our forum with the log files.
