The following support solution provides product-specific instructions for activating Microstran, MStower, and Limcon against Bentley's SELECTserver licensing system.
Background
Microstran and related products have switched from a hardware dongle system to Bentley's SELECTserver licensing system which is network-based. Every machine is configured to communicate with a license server so that products can report usage as needed. All Bentley products utilize a standard tool called the Product Activation Wizard for doing this. However, the method for accessing the tool may vary between products. This support solution shows how to access it for Microstran, MStower, and Limcon.
Steps to Accomplish
- Open the product.
- By default, each product displays a License Configuration dialog box as shown below.
- Enable design codes for which you own licenses.
- Click the Product Activation Wizard button at the bottom to open the standard tool. The following support solution provides step-by-step instructions for activating a product against SELECTserver OnLine, Bentley's online licensing solution.
- Back in the License Configuration dialog, click the Apply button to save any changes. On subsequent runs of the product, verify your selections for enabled design codes, and click the Close button to proceed. Additional visits to the Product Activation Wizard are not required.
