Column Splice Joints

In RAM Connection, Column Splice (CS) Joints can be created with the following configurations:

SP: Single Plate

  • I-Shaped
  • I-Shaped
  • Column Gap: 0
  • Column Size: Columns may be different depths.
  • Connection Type: Bolted or Welded
  • Double Plate: Available in the Connection Pad.

Column Splice Connections for Moment Reactions

FP: Flange Plate

  • I-Shaped
  • I-Shaped
  • Column Gap: 0
  • Column Size: Columns may be different depths.
  • Connection Type: Bolted or Welded
  • Interior Plate: Available in the Connection Pad for Bolted Splices.

EP: End Plate

  • Rectangular
  • Circular
  • Rectangular
  • Circular
  • Column Gap: 0
  • Column Size: Columns may be different depths.
  • Column Shape: Columns must be the same shape.

In RAM Connection, axial forces can be assigned to the beam splice as follows:

  • Tension: Positive Axial Force
  • Compression: Negative Axial Force
