Problem Description
In some circumstances the database of wall section cut data in version 17 becomes corrupted. The symptom is typically that the Concrete Shear Wall module would appear to initialize then just disappear. It might crash (or terminate) immediately, or when trying to perform View/Update on a complex wall cross section.
Solution
We have corrected the underlying problems in release 17.01.00.99 or greater.
Alternatively, one only solution we have found is to eliminate the existing section cuts in the file and start over with assigning Wall Design Groups, Section Cuts etc. A tool to delete the section cuts is available here: https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/m/structural_analysis_and_design_gallery/274079
In some cases, even with the new version, some sections cuts will have to be deleted and re-applied to get a shear wall code check.
