When using RCDC or the Advanced Concrete Design workflow in STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition v22, you may be presented with a dialog prompting you to choose between a STAAD.Pro Advanced license or an RCDC license. This wiki explains which license you should select based on which licenses you own and how you are using the application.

In STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition v22, the Advanced Concrete Design workflow is now covered by a STAAD.Pro Advanced license (previously this workflow required a STAAD Advanced Concrete Design license in addition to a STAAD.Pro license). If you have activated a STAAD.Pro Advanced license on your computer, you can use the Advanced Concrete Design workflow with no additional license required. The Advanced Concrete Design application can also be launched stand alone (separately from STAAD.Pro Advanced). This application is called RCDC. When running stand alone, you will be prompted to select one of the two licenses. If you have activated STAAD.Pro Advanced on your computer, you should select to use a STAAD.Pro Advanced license so that an individual RCDC license is not used.

Choose a STAAD.Pro Advanced License if:

  • Your organization owns Structural Enterprise
  • You regularly use STAAD.Pro Advanced and have activated STAAD.Pro Advanced on your computer
  • You are using STAAD.Pro and intend to use the Advanced Concrete Design workflow
  • You are using STAAD.Pro and intend to use the RCDC stand alone application to import STAAD.Pro files

Choose an RCDC license if:

  • You do not use STAAD.Pro
  • You use STAAD.Pro (not STAAD.Pro Advanced), and use RCDC only in conjunction with ETABS
