 Product:STAAD.pro
First Affected Version:21.00.02.30
 Found in Version:21.00.02.30
Fixed and Released in Version:
 Area: Graphic User Interface
 Issue #:864231

Problem Description

STAAD.Pro Connect Edition Update 2 crashes when defining beam offsets

.

Steps to Reproduce

Open any STAAD.Pro model.

Try to define a beam offset with the following parameters

Location : START

Direction : Global

Offset : Y =-1.234 (ft)

Immediately after defining the value, click on another cell and the value shows up in the dialog box as 1.239999999 and the software crashes.

Workaround

For offsets whose values are integers ( like 1, 2, 3 etc.) and for those having values less than 1 ( like 0.25, 0.875, 0.99 ... ), the usual procedure using the GUI would work. If you need to specify any offsets having values like 1.1, 2.3 etc. use the STAAD.Pro editor for the time being as shown next

MEMBER OFFSET

17 START 0 -1.234 0

17 END 0 -1.234 0

Once the offsets are defined, the file can be processed as usual.

Solution

The problem will be addressed in the STAAD.Pro Connect Edition Update 3.
