Applies To
 Product(s):RAM Concept
 Version(s):06.00.01.06 and later
 Area: Installation

Problem

RAM Concept has been removed from the Control Panel, Programs and Features list but the installation for the 64-bit version will not start. The error says "the 32-bit version is currently installed".

This can happen even if there are no folders for RAM Concept in C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Engineering\ path.

Solution

The installer thinks that 6.0.0 is installed because the product ID appears in the registry.

Run regedit.exe from the command line*, then search for the following key

               HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Rename the {994F8172-432E-4756-857A-0B4066B138C6} to xxx-{994F8172-432E-4756-857A-0B4066B138C6}, or something similar. Once, this has been successfully done, run the installation file again.

In case, the specific product ID is not present, download the 32-bit version of the program and install it. The installation will run fine. Once it is done, you can keep using it or uninstall it and then install the 64-bit version of the program.

* If you are uncomfortable or unable to edit the registry, please get help from your IT department or Bentley Technical Support.
