Unable to create host MainForm error in StrucLink for STAAD.Pro V8i when creating an ISM repository

Solution

Please check the path shown in the error message for Staad.Interop.ISM.config file to see that it exists where it is shown and that the user has permissions to save files to that directory. (see path below) If that seems OK please uninstall and reinstall Structural Synchronizer and reboot the machine.

C:\Users\user's.name\AppData\Local\Bentley\Engineering\STAAD.Pro V8i SS6\PlugIns\StrucLink\Staad.Interop.ISM.config

Note: For STAAD.Pro you may also need to move the STAAD model to a local directory.
