Problem Description
ACI 318-14 Section 18.10.6.5(a) (and analogous clause in ACI 318-11) requires transverse reinforcement for boundary elements not governed by 18.10.6.2 when the longitudinal reinforcement ratio exceeds 400/fy. Currently, no warning is produced about this transverse reinforcement requirement which may lead to a unconservative design of the boundary elements.
Solution
We are working on a fix for this issue.
