 Issue #:691843 , 691864

Problem Description

STAAD.Pro crashes when SFA is launched from within STAAD.Pro for a selected set of supports. This happens only when the View from which the nodes are selected, is originally generated using the New View option.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open any model.

  2. Run the Analysis.

  3. Select a few members, right click, New View, Create a new Window for the View, or display the view in the Active window.

  4. Choose the “Foundaton Design” tab from the row just above the top of the drawing area.

  5. Select some or all the supports in the view and make sure that the “Support Selection Options” is set to “Use Selected Supports Only”.

  6. Choose the load cases you want to send across to STAAD Foundation.

  7. Click on the button titled “Run STAAD Foundation Advanced”.

  8. The program crashes.

Workaround

Instead of the “New View” option described above, go to the View menu and choose “View Selected Objects Only”.

Solution

Will be addressed in the STAAD.Pro Connect Edition expected in summer of 2017
