Problem Description
It has been observed that when the STAAD.Pro editor is left open for a long time the software freezes. On some occasions when editing the commands for some using the editor would cause the Graphic User Interface (GUI) to freeze. Sometimes when the analysis output file ( or the editor ) is kept open and one works in the GUI, the software would suddenly freeze as shown in the picture below

When that happens one has to go to the Task Manager, select the STAAD.Pro Executable and do an End task to get out of the program.
Another manifestation of the problem is that the Building Planner mode inside STAAD.Pro interface keeps fluttering. Both issues should be addressed by the workaround provided next and the same solution, when available would address both issues.
Workaround
This freezing has been related to an issue with the Building Planner License. Activating the Building Planner mode from within the startup page of STAAD.Pro, may cause the interface to freeze up. So if the Building Planner mode is active, try disabling that as shown in the attached screenshot
Solution
The issue will be addressed in STAAD.Pro CE release expected around July of 2017
