Problem Description
Cantilever beams with large uplift forces in the cantilever may be designed for an incorrect shear force.
Reason
The maximum shear for most cantilever beams occurs at the support. Under unique load conditions, such as a significant uplift on the cantilever span, the design shear may occur at a station along the cantilever span and not at the support. The program always uses the shear at the support for the design shear for cantilever beams. As a result, an incorrect design shear is reported and used in the design of affected beams.
Solution
None.
