How do I import user-defined lateral load case values from Excel?

In the RAM Structural System, cut and paste commands can be used to aid in the creation of user-defined wind and seismic load cases.

First, create the user defined load case by selecting the Loads – Load Cases command.

Specify a load Label, and select the option for a User-Defined Story Forces load case

You can select any column or set of columns by clicking and dragging the mouse across the top row of the grid of values. Also note that you can select any row or set of rows by clicking and dragging the mouse down the list of Stories.

Using either Control-C or the copy icon, copy the values.

Then using Control-V, paste those values into Excel.

Modify the values as desired.

Copy the modified values from Excel.

Return to the Story Forces dialog. Select the proper set of columns or rows, and paste the new set of values using either Control-V or the paste icon.
