How to add a new section to the STAAD section database ?

From inside the Modeling mode go to the Tools menu, select Browse/Modify Section database. The various steel databases available in the program will be listed in a Section DBManager dialog box. You will find a list of databases like Rolled Steel, Aluminum, Coldformed Steel, Timber etc. Choose the appropriate database. Expand this list, go to the appropriate section type and double click on it to open the corresponding table. Use the “Add Record” option at the top of the database table to add a new section to the database. Please ensure that the Name and StaadName used for the new section, follows the nomenclature used for other sections in that table. Once you are done, Save and Close it.

You can now go to the General > Property page and click on the Section Database button and the newly added sections should now be available as part of the STAAD database just like other standard sections. You should now be able to assign this new section to the members through the usual property pages and menus.
