RAM Elements v13.4 Release Notes – Updated October 2015

Enhancements:
1. CONNECT Enabled. This release is not part of the new Bentley product generation called CONNECT Edition, which succeeds the V8i generation that has been in place for the past several years. While this is not a CONNECT Edition release, RAM Elements CONNECT Enabled includes a set of new features and services that will better connect project team members within and across organizations and enable easier access to resources such as learning materials. This collective set of services is called Bentley Cloud Services.

Resolved Issues:
1. The user input maximum stress ratio was not being taken into consideration for the calculations. Unity (1.0) was always being considered. Now the software takes a value different than 1 if the user specifies it.

2. Users were allowed to assign more than one set of bars per segment in the three wall modules, while the software only includes the first one in the spreadsheet, ignoring the rest without user knowledge. We now display a warning when this happens, alerting the user.

3. When exporting reports to Excel, when the Windows regional configuration used a comma “,” as the decimal symbol. The export command now works properly regardless of a “.” Or a “,” as the decimal symbol.

4. When analyzing using Response Spectra and rigid end offsets in columns, the reactions were incorrectly calculated. This has now been fixed and this combination in a model is no longer an issue.

5. Loads were not being distributed to members when the areas were created with surrounding nodes instead of members. User is notified when this happens to assign a direction to the load distribution.

6. In the Retaining Wall module, the equivalent unit weight was not being reported when the EFP method was chosen. Now the report includes this value when the option is selected.

7. In the Tilt-Up Wall module, the analysis gave an error for inactive degrees of freedom, when out-of-plane seismic loads were present. This is now corrected.

8. Other several minor fixes.
